GREENHILL ACADEMY SECONDARY KIBULI HOLDS PEACEFUL STUDENT LEADERSHIP INVESTITURE CEREMONY FOR 2026–2027

Greenhill Academy Secondary Kibuli on 22nd June 2026 officially swore in the new student leadership team for the 2026–2027 term during a colorful and well-attended investiture ceremony held at the school. The event marked the formal handover from the outgoing student cabinet to the newly elected leaders following peaceful digital elections conducted earlier in the month.

The ceremony attracted parents, families, teachers, students, and invited guests who gathered to witness the leadership transition and celebrate the spirit of service, responsibility, and student governance at the school.

The Rector of Greenhill Schools, Mrs. Joy Veronica Maraka, officially welcomed guests to the ceremony and appreciated parents for continuously supporting the school and their children in leadership and academics. She specially introduced the Guest of Honour, Mr. David Kabiswa, describing him as a respected counsellor and mentor whose guidance continues to positively impact young people and families. Mrs. Maraka encouraged parents to seek wise counsel and continue supporting students in becoming responsible leaders and citizens.

The outgoing Head Prefect, Muhairwe Audrey, delivered an emotional farewell speech in which he thanked the students, teachers, parents, and school administration for the support he and his outgoing cabinet had received throughout their tenure. He appreciated his fellow student leaders for their teamwork and dedication to service and encouraged the incoming cabinet to lead with humility, discipline, and commitment to the student body.

The school then officially presented and swore in the new student leadership team for the 2026–2027 term led by:

• Head Prefect – Mugisha Abaho Bantu (S5A)
• Head Boy – Sempa John Paul (S5M)
• Head Girl – Nansubuga Tarah (S5S)
• Culture and Decorum Leaders – Leone Prosper Kivumbi (S5M) and Kemigisha Anita (S5S)
• Chief Judge – Luzinda Hezekiah (S5M)
• Head Monitor – Masagazi Trevor (S5A)
• Assistant Head Monitor – Jacob Kamengo (S3R)
• Secretary to Cabinet – Nanyange Praise Kayesu (S3R)

The new leaders took their oath of office before the school administration, pledging to serve faithfully, uphold discipline, and represent the student community with integrity and responsibility.

The investiture followed the successful digital student elections held on 10th June 2026 in the school computer room. The elections were conducted peacefully, with students demonstrating maturity, discipline, and respect throughout the entire process. The school administration commended the calm and organized electoral process, which reflected the values of responsibility and unity promoted at Greenhill Academy Secondary Kibuli.

In his remarks, the Guest of Honour, Mr. David Kabiswa, congratulated the newly elected leaders and reminded them that leadership is first and foremost about service to others. He encouraged the student leaders to work hard, remain humble, and avoid misusing the authority entrusted to them.

“Servanthood is about supporting others and helping them grow,” he said. “True leadership is not about power, but about sacrifice, responsibility, and service.”

Mr. Kabiswa also advised the outgoing leaders to remain supportive of the incoming cabinet and continue mentoring them for a smooth leadership transition.

The Headmaster of Greenhill Academy Secondary, Mr. Kamengo, thanked the outgoing student cabinet for their dedicated service to the school. He encouraged them to now focus more on their academic preparation as final examinations draw closer while continuing to uphold the spirit of serving others even outside formal leadership positions.

He further challenged the newly sworn-in leaders to protect the values and image of the school through discipline, teamwork, integrity, and academic excellence.

The ceremony ended with celebrations, photographs, and interactions between parents, students, and school administrators as families proudly congratulated their children upon assuming leadership responsibilities.

The investiture ceremony once again demonstrated Greenhill Academy Secondary Kibuli’s commitment to nurturing responsible, disciplined, and service-oriented leaders for the future.
